This intensive, 15-day program offers the opportunity to explore the natural wonders of the tropics and earn six credits in a field setting in Belize, Central America. A wildlife sanctuary and other natural settings will serve as your classroom as you learn about the landforms, geology and rich cultural history of the area. Topics in Environmental Conservation and Physical Geography will come alive as you paddle in tropical rivers, snorkel in the largest barrier reef in the Western hemisphere, and hike in the mountains with CCP faculty and local experts. You will experience the cultural riches of the Creole, Maya, Mestizo, and Garifuna peoples and see how the challenges of sustainable development, globalization & trade, fisheries and forest management are being addressed.
Challenge yourself…gain academic credit and valuable international experience…explore!
Program cost: $2278, including in-country program expenses, housing and food. Students pay CCP tuition and airfare separately.
